ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hennepin County and the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis are hosting three open house meetings in mid-December to share information and discuss proposed changes to Highway 252 and Interstate 94. The public is invited to attend any (or all) meetings. All three meetings are scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

The same information will be presented at all three open houses. Kid-friendly activities and hearty snacks will be provided.

Proposals for the future of the two highways are being developed to address the future of Highway 252 and I-94 in Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and western Minneapolis. An environmental review is underway to develop solutions to reduce congestion, improve safety and address reliability on the two highways:

1. Highway 252 between Highway 610 in Brooklyn Park and I-694 in Brooklyn Center
2. I-94 from I-694 in Brooklyn Center to downtown Minneapolis

Conversion to a freeway is being considered for Highway 252. The addition of MnPASS lanes is being considered for both Highway 252 and I-94. These changes would affect drivers, transit riders, pedestrians and bicyclists.
