Dainty Meadows Visits Paris
By Amy Lor
Paris needs no introduction, it is the city of lights and the city of love. For as long as I could remember, it was on the top of my list of places to visit and earlier this year, on impulse, I purchased a ticket and checked it off. Regrets? Not here.
I spent seven days in Paris exploring the city and all it had to offer. I took the train from the airport and landed in the 19th District, which kicked off my first few nights. The 19th District offers cheaper lodging and easy access to public transportation, but it was a little out of reach from the main tourist attractions. However, if you are looking for a busy, food centered, and diverse atmosphere, the culture of the 19th District would be attractive to you.
I spent my last few days at a quaint bed and breakfast in the 16th District close to the shops of Champs Elysees, Trocadero and Eiffel Tower. This district worked better for me as I wanted to be in the perimeter of the main Paris attractions. I walked and explored the city at my leisure, stopped in for a cup of tea and bread at corner café’s every so often and spoke with the locals every chance I got.
I had an amazing time in Paris and an amazing experience meeting new people. If you find yourself in this city, make sure you take an evening stroll at the Eiffel Tower- it lights up the night sky and is a must see.
