Chonburi Lee Announces Run For Mayor Of Maplewood, Minnesota
Recently, sitting Maplewood City Council Member Chonburi Lee is announced his run for Mayor in Maplewood, Minnesota in Ramsey County.
“Maplewood was the kind of neighborhood I aspired to live in as a kid; it was and remains a highly desirable city for growing families,” Chonburi Lee.
Currently an at-large member of the city council, Chonburi Lee is entering his fourth year as a city council member. Council Member Lee is throwing in his hat for the race for November’s election for Mayor of Maplewood.
Believing that a strong and unified city benefits from transparent government and innovative ideas, current Maplewood City Council Member Chonburi Lee is entering the race for Mayor of Maplewood, MN in 2026. As a child of Hmong refugees, Chonburi understands the strength of welcoming all people to a city whose future depends on the strength of its diversity and the varied life experiences of all its residents.
As a working husband with a young family and a business owner, Chonburi seeks to ensure city services are forward thinking and innovative in welcoming new ideas to move the city to ensure all future endeavors for economic and workforce development are beneficial to all, especially those who are not as familiar with business as usual. He firmly believes that new ideas can help revitalize how the city centers community outreach and city services to serve all people.
With his current work in the nonprofit sector, Chonburi appreciates the hard work that is needed across all civil service sectors to uplift everyone to reach their highest potential, no matter their background and economic standing.
