A Hmong Folk Arts Celebration!

Come celebrate the Hmong Folk Arts Traditions taught at HCC and shared in the Hmong Cultural Center Museum on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.

HCC invites the public to a celebration of the center’s 27 year history of Hmong folk arts education and programming, unique among organizations in Minnesota.

Several major milestones will be recognized at this event: graduation of a new class of Wedding and Funeral Song performers, the recent compilation and printing of new Wedding and Funeral Song and Qeej song curriculums to be used at the center and a 2019 “Minnesota History Award” received by the center for the Hmong Folk Arts Experience interactive museum exhibit!

Included in the event will be performances of Hmong Wedding and Funeral Songs, Qeej performances and performances of other Hmong musical instruments featured on exhibit in the Hmong Cultural Center Museum.

This programming is supported by grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as the McKnight Foundation, the Saint Paul Foundation, the F.R. Bigelow Foundation and the City of St. Paul Cultural Star Grant program.
